From 1864 to 1871 Charles Southam, previously at 2 Cook Street, advertised his Stout and Porter available at 1 Lower Ford Street, before relocating "to more central and commodious Premises" at 39 Smithford Street. From 1874 the premises became the Elastic Inn.
