In the 1841 census John Goode, 45, is a sawyer at the Bell, Keresley. By 1851 he is 55, a farm labourer living at the Shepherd and Shepherdess. In 1841 Charles Foster, 55, is a butcher at the Heath, Keresley. There is no John. Then in 1851 John Foster, 31, is a butcher and beer seller at The Bell, Keresley. By 1861 John Foster has moved up to being a butcher in Great Butcher Row, Coventry.
