Only one record - an entry in Pigot's directory of 1835 - betrays the brief existence of this pub name. Later the same year it became the KENILWORTH CASTLE. However, the licensee, William Ascough, was granted a license for The Board in Hertford Street in September 1829 - could this be the same premises that became the Barrel then the Kenilworth Castle?
