Old Dyers Arms, Spon End Around 1828, during the tenure of John Thrasher, this pub's name changed from the Berkswell Tavern to the Dyers Arms. In late 1843 it became known as the Old Dyers Arms - could this have been to distinguish it from the Dyers Arms just up the road in Spon Street? Despite this name change, the shortened term Dyers Arms persisted in newspapers for many years.
