Beginning as the CROWN AND ANCHOR (1748-49 Bradford Survey), then from around 1774 as the BULL AND ANCHOR, with variations, the name OLDE BULL AND ANCHOR (often only Old Bull and Anchor) begins to appear in newspapers from January 1869, but stops being used in 1896, reverting the simply BULL AND ANCHOR, which it continued as until the pub was declared redundant in February 1931.
An auction on Tuesday 8th March 1932 realised £1,000 for the pub, which was described as having vacant possession and suitable for conversion to a shop or club. | |||
